Sunday, May 5th and Bank Holiday Monday, May 6th

It may be best known for literary legends and historic scenery, but Stratford is set to transform into an engine-enthusiasts haven this weekend.

For one weekend only, see Stratford-upon-Avon’s streets play host to fantastic cars and activities for all the family. The 2019 Festival of Motoring on May Bank Holiday weekend features everything from classic cars to modern-day motors in two days of family-friendly fun.

This year, the Mini is taking centre-stage as it celebrates its 60th anniversary, and the festival could see one of Stratford’s historic streets renamed ‘Issigonis Alley’ in honour of the landmark creation’s creator Alec Issigonis.

The festival’s Patron, award-winning motoring journalist and TV presenter Quentin Willson, said: “2019 will carry on the tradition of a friendly, all encompassing, and un-sniffy event in the heart of historic Stratford-upon-Avon. We’d love to see cars of all types – from that 1970s Allegro through to Ferraris and historic Jaguars. And we’re certain to see a lot of minis as 2019 is the 60th anniversary of Alec Issigonis’ landmark creation.”

As part of the celebrations, this year will also include extra prizes for entrants who don the national costume of their car’s manufacturer or fancy dress matching the year of the car’s production. Plenty of options to get creative!

And it’s not just about the cars. The whole event takes place in the bustling streets of Stratford, complete with stunning scenery, history-packed venues, stunning shops and an array of restaurants, cafes and pubs with all that on offer Bright Lights will be part of the action. On waterside with it’s luxuary range of  perosnalised gifts.

Come and join us for what is guaranteed to be a fun-packed weekend showing off all that Stratford has to offer – and more!
